~ OUR MISSIONARIES ~

Pastor Omar Corona: Pastor Omar is a Great Commission Missionary serving in Monterrey, Mexico. He has been part of Great Commission Ministries for the past 10 years. Omar, his wife, Marlene, and his children, Omar Jr., David, and Sasai work in an area of Monterrey, called "La Isla". This is a very poor area where the people live in homes made of cardboard and sheet metal. Every Saturday, the Corona's hold bible studies and English Language classes. They have over 100 children and 30 women attending every weekend.

In July, Great Commission Ministries sends a team of people from Metropolis, IL, to this area to hold a Vacation Bible School for the children. Over the past 5 years, the VBS has grown from 30 children in attendance to well over 150. The team spends a week teaching the Bible and playing with these underprivileged children.

Pastor Jose 'Pepe' Flores: Pastor Pepe met Pastor Brian Anderson in Henry, Tennessee in the late 1990's while Pastor Brian was preaching at the New Life Baptist Church there. Pepe gave his life to the Lord and felt a calling into the ministry. He later became the Hispanic Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Martin, Tennessee.

Pepe returned to Mexico to get a Seminary degree. While there he planted the church Iglesia Nueva Vida in Lerdo, Durango. After receiving his degree he moved back to Jackson, Tennessee, to pastor the Iglesia Bautista la Gran Comision.

Pepe has moved back to Mexico for a short time and is working with Sergio Vargas and Ismael Rodriguez planting churches and ministering to the people of Durango.
