Pastor Brian is the Director of Great Commission Ministries. Great Commission Ministries was founded in Henry, TN during Pastor Brian's 15 year ministry with Henry Baptist and New Life Baptist Church.
In the late 1990's, Henry Baptist began an outreach to Hispanic people and eventually launched a Hispanic Church. Through the contacts made in Henry, Pastor Brian began to do missionary outreaches to Mexico.
For the past 10 years, Pastor Brian has worked with church planter, Pastor Omar Corona in the city of Monterrey, as well as church planters in the city of Durango.
Pastor Brian has done missionary work in India, the Philippines, Mexico and much of Tennessee with Hispanic people. Great Commission Ministries supports two Mexican missionaries and one church planter/pastor in Jackson, TN.
Great Commission Ministries also works in ministries here in the United States. The 3D Youth COnference is designed to catch the attention of today's youth using the Biblical stories of Daniel and Joseph. The 3D Youth Conference asks each youth the question "where will you be in 20 years?" We use the story of Daniel to show that even though he had great problems, he "purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself before God" Daniel 1:8. Daniel's life is a model for every young person. Daniel went from being a prison of war to the position of Prime Minister.
Great Commission Ministries introduced the marriage conference entitled "The Relationship Highway" in 2008. This seminar/conference focuses on communication in Marriage. Since communication problems are the number 1 cause of divorce, we want to help couples learn how to do it effectively.
Great Commission Ministries began to work this past year with those who have been incarcerated in the Potosi State Penitentiary in Missouri. Pastor Brian has done the required training to work in prisons all over the state of Missouri. Pastor Brian works with the prison team teaching the ministry of music and worship.
We hope to expand this ministry to other prisons as this is a much needed ministry. Pastor Brian is considered unpaid staff so he depends on the mission giving of Great Commission supporters to keep this going.
Great Commission Ministries also helps churches with music and worship ministries. Pastor Brian is a musician with a heart for worship and has a desire to help churches expand their music ministries.
Pastor Brian lives in Metropolis with Robin, his wife of 29 years. Brian and Robin have three children: Ryan and his wife Laurel of Metropolis; Jason and his wife Lindsay of Marshall County, Kentucky; and Carissa and her husband Blake of Paducah, Kentucky. They also have four grandchildren Toby and Charlee Jackson, Chloe Anderson, and Piper Anderson.
